Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme Monitoring Reports
The Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme (TFES) provides financial assistance for cost incurred by shippers of eligible non-bulk goods moved by sea across the Bass Strait. More information about the operation of the Scheme can be found at Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme | Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts.
Under the TFES Ministerial Directions, BITRE provides a statistical report on all components of the Scheme every four years. The Consultation Draft of the 2024 Monitoring Report is now available for interested parties to review. Comments can be provided to BITRE@infrastructure.gov.au by 29 November 2024.
NOTE: This TFES Monitoring Report is separate from the current Senate Committee on the TFES. Information on the Senate Committee can be found at Select Committee on the Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme – Parliament of Australia.
